— On the Mercier

Drawn for a client who always asked something of him.

The first Mercier was cut for a client who, in the studio's notes, always asked something of him. We built the opposite of what he'd worn before.

The result favours the rectangular line the studio keeps returning to: heavier where the eye expects weight, and light everywhere the skin meets the frame. It is cut in honey acetate, 28g finished, and fitted with a 7-barrel brass hinge.
